Buff Jerkin Records Presents
BON TON ROULER
Little Whelan’s • Sat 29th June 2024
Bon Ton Rouler play genre bending Heavy Rock Music with more than a Dab of Punk, Funk, Dub, Psychedelic Blues and Electronica. Lyrics are gritty socio-political poetry.
The Band cite many musical Influences. From contemporary West Coast Garage Psychedelic Rockers Ty Segall and OSEES and the San Fransisco Experimental, Noise Punk Pop outfit Deerhoof, to the older Avant-Garde DADA Rock Pioneer Captain Beefheart and German 70’s Experimental Rock band CAN, to the more electronic side of Berlin era Bowie and the nightmarish side of Tom Waits Bone Machine. As with all Lovers of Music, this list details only a snapshot of the vast tundra of overlapping musical styles influencing Bon Ton Rouler.
In 2021 the band released their Debut Album, “Bondage”, the first of two sister albums – “Eat Crow” was released at the end of 2022. Since then a stream of singles have been released including a collaboration with Irish Electronic Music Producer Ciaran McCarthy AKA Suburban Dream for the Hip Hop infused “Is This Really How It Is?”
Bon Ton Rouler are Mick Major, David Geraghty, Peter Drinkwater and Ciaran Oman.
Mick is lead guitarist, vocalist and chief instigator. A flamboyant live performer whose propulsive frenzied guitar playing, energised and chaotic, sets the pace from start to finish and leaves no room for unbelivers. He’s full time ally of Join Me in The Pines, and founder of the former Rock Band, Freakin’ Shams.
David is on drums, a cofounder of Bellx1 and Join Me In The Pines, and a critically acclaimed solo artist.
Ciaran has played Bass with various artists as diverse as Gavin Glass And Ross Breen, and is a sought after session player around Dublin.
Pete, on rhythm guitar, is a longtime collaborator of Mick’s and a cofounder of Freakin’ Shams.
For the Whelans Gig Bon Ton Rouler will play a stripped back set with Mick and Pete.
