To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Armbar. The music is extremely ambient, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the riffs will go over a typical listener’s head. There’s also their nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into their characterisation – their personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these songs, to realize that they don’t just sound good- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Armbar truly ARE idiots. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in


P.O.C. are a 3 piece groove/sludge metal band from Galway. Blending their influences from Galways legendary hardcore scene and their own unique blues-rock style, the group consistently provide a crushing live show that is high volume and high intensity. P.O.C are delighted to make their Dublin debut in Whelans in support of their latest release The Red Meat E.P.”


We are a 3 piece soft rock band with elements of funk and folk. We come from Wexford and we just released our debut single ‘Eddie’ on the 21st of September. We plan on making music to heal and uplift people and maybe save the world.
