Singer-songwriter Aoife Moriarty crafts music that elegantly blends a jazz sensibility with indie pop and folk styles. Her ability to weave vivid narratives with melodies that linger long after the final note has earned her critical acclaim, with her debut album Dolls & Jigsaws (2009) receiving widespread recognition including Jackie Hayden’s Album of the Year in Hot Press and a coveted appearance on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show.

The Sunday Times’ Mick Heaney praised the album as “an arresting slice of smart coffee table pop,” while Hot Press lauded its “slick musicianship” and “pristine production,” noting Moriarty’s unique ability to sidestep singer-songwriter clichés in favour of crafting “highly accomplished quirky pop gems.”

After a creative hiatus, Aoife returns to the stage with renewed passion, bringing both her celebrated earlier work and previews of her eagerly anticipated 2025 album release. Join her at Whelan’s on March 12th for an intimate evening that promises to showcase her distinctive songcraft through a blend of acoustic guitar, piano, percussion, and live electronics – the latter influenced by her exploration of music technology.

This special performance will feature reimagined favourites alongside new material, creating an atmosphere that’s both reflective and uplifting – a perfect setting to experience Moriarty’s compelling musical storytelling. Special guest Christian Weathered will provide support on the night.
