Roots rocker Eoin Glackin shows why he is Irish music’s most thrilling emerging talent with the release of his next EP, Pretty Girl. This latest recording, a four-track with a release in Ireland on 19th September and a UK release date of September 22nd, is Glackin’s much-anticipated new offering and the perfect follow-on to his most recent album, Rain Finally Came.

He is lauded for his debut album, Not Lost in 2011, and its successor in 2013 in equal measure. Both records have gained Glackin an army of fans and admirers, many of whom travelled across the country and beyond to see the relentless tourer who “lives to play live”. Eoin will be touring the EP in September {dates below} in the UK and Ireland.

The EP includes three new songs – title track Pretty Girl, Morning Take Us Easy, Ride It Out – and a remix of Rain Finally Came. An impassioned fusion of folk, blues, balladry, trad and rock, rising star Eoin’s music has earned him shows at Ireland’s biggest festivals and support slots for the likes of the legendary Joan Armatrading.

A storyteller at heart, his first album dealt with hope (and fear), his second looked at resilience (and adversity), the latest recording carries on the theme of the human condition, in the style of contemporary folk tales with a rock edge.

Eoin Glackin said: “Lyrically, it’s about the realities we have to face in life. The first track is a narrative story about a tragic young woman, the second tells of a guy and a girl meeting at a rave and trying to get out of that scene. Track three is an upbeat pop song; essentially about seeing something through, the message is keep on going if you feel what you’re doing is right.”

“Sonically it’s a little bit more rock than the last album was. Rain Finally Came was more rootsy – this one is getting more electric again, there’s an element of going back to where I started out.” It is set to open the road even further for this modern-day troubadour.
