Popular. A native southern Irish girl, Carrie swapped the Green Isle for the big smoke in 2009 when she moved to study at the London School of Musical Theatre. Mixing Jazz and soul-drenched melodies into a melting pot of Dilla-Esque beats, Carrie comes with a distinctively sweet vocal style that is authentically hers.
“…You’re unlikely to hear a better straight ahead rock ‘n’ roll record this year. You can trace the low slung guitars of Monday Club and Roll The Dice back to The Faces and Exile-era Stones…” 7/10 – CLASSIC ROCK
“ ‘Shooting The Breeze’ is simply masterful and gives all those new rough blues rockers a run for their money”. 10/10 Album Of The Month – POWERPLAY

We Were Promised Jetpacks will perform live at Whelan’s, 4th December 2021. Tickets are available from Tickets.ie, Ticketmaster.ie and WAV.
We Were Promised Jetpacks formed in Scotland in 2013. With four albums under their belt, The More I Sleep The Less I Dream is their latest album. During the making of this album, all four members turned 30 and felt like vastly different people to the four 20-year-olds that they were when they first started releasing music. The More I Sleep The Less I Dream contains the essence of what the band have grown into, both as artists and as people. They’ve taken their experiences, both from their ten years as a touring band and from the changes in their personal lives, and forged them into an album that represents a new phase for the band.
That evolution continues as a founding member, Michael Palmer, left the band in 2019. The remaining members navigate what it looks like to be a 3 piece for the first time since the band’s inception and dive into writing their next studio record due out early 2021.
Following a successful debut tour culminating at The Leicester Square Theatre and a recording of a sold out hometown gig, Andrew is coming to Dublin with a brand new show.

Black Country, New Road announce debut headline Whelan’s show.
Black Country, New Road sound like a proper filthy juggernaut of a band, a real experience to behold. At times, colossal metal riffs mangle with frenetic jazz freakouts; occasionally film noir string motifs are motored into the urgent present with a razortight rhythm section.

////////////
Whelan’s Ones to Watch festival returns this January 2021 as …you guessed it….a virtual event. It will be streamed for free online to give you the opportunity to check out all the up and coming talent that’s been bubbling up during lockdown.
While Whelan’s remains closed and live music is at a standstill, we’ve had plenty of time to plan the next step. We’ve invested in broadcast equipment that will allow us to stream gigs online, to bridge the gap until we can all be together again and to give new artists an opportunity to perform.
We’re asking all up and coming acts that would like to play to APPLY NOW. This years event will be limited so don’t delay.

“…You’re unlikely to hear a better straight ahead rock ‘n’ roll record this year. You can trace the low slung guitars of Monday Club and Roll The Dice back to The Faces and Exile-era Stones…” 7/10 – CLASSIC ROCK

“Blackwater Conspiracy stand out, not because what they do is necessarily new, but because they’re supremely good at it”. 4/5 – PLANET ROCK
Ask anyone Irish and they’ll tell you music is in their blood, and so it is with Blackwater Conspiracy from County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Their debut album “Shootin’ The Breeze” was released June 2017 in the UK to wholesale critical acclaim. Festival slots at Download, Steelhouse and Ramblin’ Man Fair (2017 & 2019) and also high octane tours supporting Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Kris Barras, Joanne Shaw Taylor, along with three headline UK club tours cemented their reputation on the live scene. Blackwater Conspiracy’s debut appearance at Ramblin’ Man Fair was even featured in “10 Of The Greatest Ramblin’ Man Sets So Far”, on the festivals official website.
Early 2020 saw the release of the bands second album “Two Tails & The Dirty Truth Of Love & Revolution”, an album that further went to highlight their musical diversity and unique approach to song craft. Upon it’s release, “Two Tails…” debuted at #3 on the Official UK Rock & Metal Album Chart and #2 on the Offi cial UK Independent Album Breakers Chart. Blackwater Conspiracy continue to go from strength to strength, spreading their heady musical cocktail for more to discover.
The story of the band is the story of 5 guys from Northern Ireland who have played music all their lives. Having crossed paths frequently over the years they came together as Blackwater Conspiracy in the Summer of 2015, formed from the ashes of two of the country’s most popular local bands, Million Dollar Reload and Swanee River.
Their intention from the outset was no more following of trends, no more conforming to what was expected – they are 5 individuals wanting to fully express themselves whilst playing in a band. Sounds simple, but consider a pianist taking inspiration from Brian Stetzer and Jerry Lee Lewis, a bass player infl uenced by Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy, a drummer driven by everyone from Buddy Rich to Danny Carey and two guitar players oozing The Stones, The Faces and The Black Crowes – you’re going to create a pretty unique musical melting pot.
Songwriters Phil Conalane and Brian Mallon take a refreshingly free-form approach to their songs, thus allowing all this individual expression to take place. The result is a breathtaking panorama of material – from rich bluesy slide guitar rock to achingly delicate confessional country; from galloping radio friendly rock ‘n’ roll to late night dark corner whiskey blues. The band play with a confi dence and effortless ease, the arrangements are epic and it’s all woven together with one of the most naturally expressive classic rock voices in the world today.
Like the River Blackwater, the geographical link that ties each member together, and from where they take their name, there is an unstoppable fl ow, a natural power and order of things present here – this is the essence of Blackwater Conspiracy.
BLACKWATER CONSPIRACY are;
Phil Conalane – Vocals / Rhythm Guitar
Brian Mallon – Lead Guitar / Backing Vocals
Kie McMurray – Bass Guitar / Backing Vocals
Aaron Connelly – Keyboards / Backing Vocals

These songs represent just a small taste of the enigma that is Donny Benét.
Hailed and panned by critics as “Prince on a serious budget cut” Donny Benét is best described as the favourite nephew to Uncles Giorgio Moroder, Alan Vega and Michael McDonald.
Residing in Sydney, Australia, Benét writes, performs and records entirely by himself at the renowned Donnyland Studios. Vintage synthesisers and drum machines are used exclusively to present Benét’s views on life, love and relationships through the power of song.
Benét’s 2011 breakthrough album “Don’t Hold Back”, confused and intrigued many, establishing him as a cult figure in the Australian music scene. The piece de resistance came in the form of the 2018 album The Don. Donny’s latest singles Second Dinner and Girl of My Dreams provide a small taste of his recently released and highly anticipated album Mr Experience.
A breakthrough set at the Pohoda Festival in 2018 led to constant international touring throughout 2018/19 with Donny building new audiences across Europe and the US.
Don is joined by his band of professionals, The Donny Benét Show band when performing live.
“Jeffrey Lebowski, it is “The Dude”, Donny Benét, it is “The Don”. Quite simply.”
