Barry Wilson, a musician, composer and songwriter from Cork, Ireland, leads a large ensemble upstairs at Whelan’s this September as part of his album launch. He has spent the last 3 years collaborating with over 22 musicians across Ireland completing his debut album due out September 6th; as well as contributing drums, percussion, piano, vocals and lyrics to his pieces. The music is a seamless blend of Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop and everything in between, guaranteeing a unique sonic experience that’s both original and refreshing.
Collaborations with artists live and in-studio include the likes of Ophelia McCabe (Renowned Irish MC), Gemma Sugrue (Voiceworks Director and vocalist for Jenny Greene and the RTE Concert Orchestra), Sara Ryan (Up-and-coming solo artist recently named Folk Artist of the Year), Shaool (MC of the well-known Sligo hip hop act This Side Up) and many more.

0phelia is a rapper, singer and producer based in Cork.
She is composing electronic hip hop & soul, hosting an experimental residency PakAnimal in The Crane Lane Cork and facilitating the creation of independent music and drama in The Kabin Studios Cork.
She has opened for Ice Cube, Maverick Sabre, Sage Francis, Pharaohe Monch, De La Soul & Damien Dempsey as well as being an active collaborator.
0phelia will present her new songs when she opens for, her friend and co-writer, Barry Wilson in Whelan’s, Dublin this September.
