Formed in autumn of 2015, Hatchlings are a 5 piece band who draw influence from jazz, folk, R’n’B, rock and classical music. Performances range from lively electric sets to mellow acoustic appearances. Recent performances of note include supporting Planet Parade in Whelans, Whelans Midnight Hour, Whelans Ones To Watch Festival, a sold out headline gig at L’Artisanes Thés Cafés in Saint Quentin, France, We-Bloom Sessions in The Workmans Club, a win at the King Kong Club semifinals, and the GoldenPlec Stage at Vantastival. A review by Dublin Concerts of Hatchlings performance with Planet Parade stated ‘Hatchlings embody joyful alternative, even bringing to mind The Kooks at an instance. Each band member is truly into it – wearing stage presence like second nature…Musical adeptness is in abundance; a mixture of entrancing lyrics, riffs and cries – all spinning together blissfully and fiercely.’ (Full Review) Upcoming performances include Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas and Picnic in the Park in Manchester, UK. Hatchlings helped to found independent arts collective, Common Grounds Collective. For more information see their EPK here.
