NASHVILLE – The Country Music Association’s CMA Songwriters Series is returning to the U.K. and Ireland in February of 2013. The BMI & Gibson Guitars present CMA Songwriters Series featuring Kristian Bush, Brett James, Chris Young, and host Bob DiPiero, will play dates in Dublin, Belfast, and London.
The CMA Songwriters Series began in 2005 in New York and has expanded to cities across the United States including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Phoenix. The Series was taken to the U.K. for the first time in February of 2012 and was met with much acclaim.
“With the successful debut of the CMA Songwriters Series in the U.K. and Ireland earlier this year, fans across the pond proved that they are passionate about Country Music,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to taking this Series overseas once again and introducing more of our fantastic songwriters to fans abroad.”
Founded in 1958, the Country Music Association was the first trade organization formed to promote a type of music. In 1961, CMA created the Country Music Hall of Fame to recognize artists and industry professionals with Country Music’s highest honor. More than 11,000 music industry professionals and companies from around the globe are members of CMA. The organization’s objectives are to serve as an educational and professional resource for the industry and advance the growth of Country Music around the world. This is accomplished through CMA’s core initiatives: the CMA Awards, which annually recognize outstanding achievement in the industry; the CMA Music Festival, which benefits music education and is taped for a three-hour special; and “CMA Country Christmas,” which features Country artists performing original music and Christmas classics and will be broadcast Dec. 20. All of CMA’s television properties will air on the ABC Television network through 2021.
