GER O’SULLIVAN

Only formed last year, Yearning Curve have already been played on national radio (RTE’s Creedon Show and Late Date) and have an iTunes number one under their belt (Lean Lightly).

They toured their debut EP, ‘Blonde On The Inside’ all over Ireland last summer, including IMRO Venue of The Year, Coughlans Live and Whelans in Dublin and are all set to release their first album this May.

Lawrence O’Donnell and Bairbre Flood met at music school and bring prog-rock, country, jazz and folk influences to their acoustic collaboration, which is their own quirky eclectic style.

First album “The Murder Machine” will be out on May 1st 2014 with the official launch in Coughlans on May 8th. It’s inspired by Patrick Pearses book of the same title published in 1914 and explores the many arms of the ‘murder machine’ from a personal, political and philosophical perspective.

— “Yearning Curve’s seductive fusion of jazz and pop makes for an enticing debut EP. ‘Blonde on the  Inside’ features four charming original tunes…”  – Chordblossom, 14/10/13, Conor Reid

— “Mixed bag of pop, jazz, electronica and country.” – Goldenplec, 30/8/13, Justin McCarthy

— “Deliciously sultry ‘n’ jazzy new EP” – Hot Press Free Music Friday, 2/8/13, Stuart Clarke

— “Opening track, Lean Lightly was initially released last March. A smooth mellow number that sees Flood’s vocals soar effortlessly alongside a smoky trumpet, it opens with the arresting line: “Even Lady Gaga sometimes feels like a loser. Wakes up in her outfit from the night before.” Stuck and Multi Me are gently strummed low-key slices of kitchen sink soul featuring warm electronic undercurrents.” – Evening Echo, 4/7/13, Don O’Mahony
