TRANSATLANTIC FURY feat NICK REVELL & LEE CAMP

Whelanslive.com presents

TRANSATLANTIC FURY

featuring

NICK REVELL LEE CAMP

“We are eccentric revolutionaries. We want liberty, equality and the finest whisky available to humanity, and we want them now”

Rising star of American comedy Lee Camp (“Gets the crowd roaring!” –Rolling Stone) and veteran British stand-up Nick Revell (“fiercely funny…insightful, incandescent.” The Herald) will be touring the UK together in May 2013.

Lee Camp:

“For those comedy fans still in mourning for Bill Hicks 18 years on, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in the work of DC-born stand-up Lee Camp. Like Hicks, Camp has a visceral disregard for big business and big politics, and speaks his mind on everything from abortion rights to the evils of the modern media. However, where Hicks was more of a commentator who stayed above the fray, Camp is much closer to British activist-comics like Mark Thomas, a real-life serial protester.” –The Guardian

“Like Jon Stewart from the Daily Show but with sharper teeth.” –The Herald

“When my father died, I became concerned about who was going to carry the torch… and Lee Camp blew me away. I thought ‘That’s like my dad.’ ” —Kelly Carlin (George Carlin’s daughter)

“We had to physically remove him from the building.” — Anchor on Fox News (following Camp’s appearance where he called the network a “parade of propaganda”)

“Very funny.” –General Wesley Clark (former NATO Supreme Allied Commander)

“Lee Camp is an integral part of a longstanding satirical tradition. He has the rare ability to make you laugh and think simultaneously.” –Paul Krassner

Nick Revell:

“Revell makes you laugh and think; a rare and cherishable combination these days” The Scotsman

“Master satirist…superb comic.” Time Out

“One of the most creative and incisive comics on the circuit – the wonderful Nick Revell…A brilliant observer of contemporary idiocies….a shrewd commentator on society and the political scene….Having begun his career not long after alternative comedy’s equivalent of the year dot….you’d forgive Nick Revell if these days he chose to put his feet up of an evening. Instead, he maintains a gigging schedule that would shatter many fresher-faced acts…While he’s got access to a vein of intoxicating anger, he’s also a comedian who can transmit a huge amount of real human warmth. Expect to be seduced by a genuine craftsman”. Guardian

“Scalpel-sharp satirist” – Evening Standard
