ALIBI TRAXIrish based ElectroRock trio Toy Soldier will be releasing their latest single “Animal” on 21st February. Taken from their forthcoming E.P. ‘Love Buzz’, the track has already been chosen by the famed Munster Rugby team as this season’s official entry song.
Forming in 2010, early success came to Toy Soldier when their song “Climbing Trees” was chosen for US compilation album, ‘Café Groove’. Spurring the band into action, they travelled to Los Angeles where they learned not only how to gather influences and draw inspiration from others but also how to adapt these muses to craft their unique signature sound; a dance-floor groove with hard rocking riffs, think of your favourite club night with Nine Inch Nails and Blondie mashing it up on the decks.
Closer to home, in their short lifespan Toy Soldier have featured on ‘Ireland’s Hottest Acts’ CD in Hot Press Magazine and have been lauded by BBC radio DJ Tom Robinson on his show ‘BBC Introducing’.
Having perfected their live performance in L.A. with early live shows in world renowned venues such as The Viper Room and The Mint, Toy Soldier are now one of the most exciting bands on the live music scene with an unmatched level of showmanship amongst their peers. The band have been special guests to some incredible international artists including LostBoy (AKA Jim Kerr of Simple Minds), Darwin Deez and British Sea Power. Proving themselves to be a hit at several major Irish festivals such as the Electric Picnic, Hard Working Class Heroes to name but a few, 2014 looks set to be an exciting time in the world of Toy Soldier.
