Mick (Pyro) Tierney, Shelley Bukspan & Ray Boyle, fused together by their musical blends and an affinity for each other’s individual lyrics, vocals and production, play upstairs in Whelans on Wednesday 28th October. Tierney-Bukspan & Boyle collectively perform songs from their upcoming solo albums, adding some roots numbers to their musical melting pot. Mick Pyro, best known as the frontman for funk rock band Republic of Loose is currently working on his solo album, due to be released to much anticipation in 2016. During his time with platinum selling Loose, Pyro performed at Croke Park, Glastonbury, Reading Festival, T in the Park, Latitude, Electric Picnic and Forbidden Fruit. He has worked with U2 Shane McGowan, Snow Patrol, Gavin Friday, Alabama Three as well as sharing stages with Guns N’ Roses, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Scissor Sisters and the New York Dolls. Shelley Bukspan‘s musical influences have always been rooted in Prog Rock, Folk and Funk and for no better term, she describes her music as Glam Folk. She’s currently gearing up for the release of her solo album with “The Bronx Age”. Ray Boyle began his career in the 90s as lead guitarist and songwriter in the band The Ultra Montanes, signing to Sony indie label Lakota and releasing an album and several singles. He later studied classical guitar, completing his Recital Diploma at Trinity College of Music London and his Licentiate in Classical Guitar Recital. Ray has collaborated and played with a broad range of artists, including Babyshambles, Suede and the virtuoso violinist Cora Venus Lunny. He’s been musical composer and arranger for theatre productions, and has scored several animated shorts and projects for the Dublin Fringe Festival. They are joined by Jorden Bukspan on vocals, Cote Calmet on Drums and Tommy Moore on Bass (find links bellow). Since their recent formation, Tierney-Bukspan-Boyle have played to a packed audience at this year’s Blues, Roots & Brass festival in Whelan’s. They also played the Oxjam stage at Electric Picnic and The Sugar Club.
