THE REVELLIONS

DEATH IN THE SICKROOM

“there’s no question that they’ve come out the other side with enough plutonium strength trash pop to get the girls in the front row dancing and the chop wearing pointed booties among us hot under the collar with it’s glorious and passionate deliverance” Shindig

“It’s been quite a wait, but The Revellions have crafted a near perfect record, one that takes us on an arc of a city-night dancehall drama, into a midnight psychosis, before we come down as the desert sun rises” Louder Than War

“Give It Time is a very strong offering from the re-born band” Hot Press

Three years have passed since The Revellions released their last single “Sighs” and five since their eponymous debut album came out on Dirty Water Records. At every stage of the way we were told “JUST A LITTLE LONGER”…… just a little longer. Their BBC sessions recorded on Mark Lamarr’s show “Gods Jukebox” only whetted our appetite and still we had to wait….and wait we did….so here it is 9 songs, 38 minutes entitled “GIVE IT TIME”….The irony is not lost on us.

Band members have come and gone from The Revellions camp but who remains?

James Lister on guitar and Vocals, Thomas D’Arcy on keyboards and Vocals, Michael Smith on Drums and Brian Salter on Bass.

The album contains contributions from members old and new and spans a riotous five years.

DEATH IN THE SICKROOM

Death In The Sickroom are a four-piece band from Dublin who play a superb brand of 12 string jangle pop.

Formed in mid 2012 the most recent addition to the Reekus Records roster have been making quite a name for themselves on the capital’s live music circuit. “They have a sound unlike any other band around at the moment. Really worth seeing live if you get the opportunity.” (Barry Gruff)

Eighteen-year-old Mark Heffernan’s lyrical content is reminiscent of the beautifully inspiring kitchen-sink romanticism of Suede and Pulp, combining themes of sex, violence and isolation with infectiously catchy, well written tunes.

The demo version of their forthcoming single ‘Tonight’ has been likened to

the sparkling indie brilliance of Echo & The Bunnymen at their very best.” (Barry Gruff)

“Death In The Sickroom…. offer up some excellently crafted jangle pop.” (Trevor Meyer: Blahblahblah Science)

“Imagine a cross between Echo & The Bunnymen , The Cure and The Smiths!.Sweet moving songs with delicious dancing parts and wondeful harmonies. The melodies are so beautiful that your heart will be totally charmed!.Makes me feel good and happy!.” (The HC/Punk Demo Tapes Archive)
