The Common Grounds Collective is delighted to bring you a night of Irish music & poetry unlike all others in one of Dublin’s most illustrious venues, Whelan’s. The Poet & The Player is a pairing of traditional and newly-hewn melodies, prose & poetry which have been written & brought together especially for the night. Featuring some of the highest regarded traditional musicians in the country such as Alannah Thornburgh, Jason McGuinness & Navy Cut alongside some of the incredible poets Common Grounds has stumbed across in some of the most magical parts of the country, the night will weave two strands of Ireland’s rich artistic tradition into a stream of never-before performed works. Doors will be opening at 8 with first performers on stage at 8:30. Tickets will be available on the door or from any member of the Common Grounds crew from Tuesday 23rd and will cost €8 for the night.
