THE WHILEAWAYS sees three distinct voices combine to weave a beguiling tapestry of harmonies and beautifully crafted original songs. Their sound is true, their delivery undeniably engaging. These three singers could all front their own projects, and indeed have. With six previous albums to their collective credit, this is their debut as one. Noriana Kennedy, Nicola Joyce and Noelie Mc Donnell. Their self titled debut album was given a four star review from the Irish Times; “this is an audacious debut which hollers for a chance to be heard in a live setting, so rich is its lyrical tapestry” and ‘Album of the Week’ on RTE Radio 1.

ALDOC is the new project from ex Gráda frontman and flute player Alan Doherty, who are currently promoting the release of their debut album ‘From Tallaght to Halle’. The Dubliner moved from his native land of Ireland to Germany to explore his vision and begin writing for an innovative new project. Two years later and the result is a captivating portrait of the possibilities of musical fusion. The album was recorded between Cologne & Berlin, Germany and Wellington, New Zealand and was produced by Doherty’s former Grada bandmate Gerry Paul. Both in the studio and on stage, the band is all about innovation. And as none of the six band members share nationality or an identical musical tradition, their combined offerings create an explosive mix. To hear an ALDOC set is to ride through a rich terrain of reggae and electronica, vocal chanting and folk. The flute-led-electronic-dub-groove band will surprise you with even the simplest of tricks. Prepare for the shock – you have never before heard such a sonic combination. ALDOC will hit parts of you that you didn’t know existed.

NEW ROAD: A new group on the foot of solo album success. They are: Conor Byrne (flute); Rick Epping (vocals, harmonica & concertina); Leonard Barry (Uilleann Pipes); Andy Morrow (fiddle); Seamie O’Dowd (guitar& vocals). Musically melding so well in the studio on Barry’s solo release New Road, the obvious next step for these musicians was to continue on the road. With plenty of common ground already underfoot (Dervish, The Unwanted, Luka Bloom, Christy Moore), barriers there are none, and a whole new musical journey was easily embarked on. As band member, Rick Epping puts it: “With the faint strains of music yet to be discovered, this new road is one I’m delighted to be travelling.”
