JIM MCKEE, is an artist and singer/songwriter from Cookstown, County Tyrone. Better known for his acclaimed artwork, Jim is rapidly gaining the deep respect of fellow musicians and critics alike for his song-writing talents and moving live performances. The former All-Ireland Boxing Champion has an original voice with plenty to say.
Jim’s original songs have been used as soundtracks for film productions and television documentaries, including the upcoming film production Seven Songs For Ami beginning shot in July by Sonny and Skye Productions, and selected for the Galway FIlm Fleadh www.sonnyandskye.com
Currently, Jim is based in Bell Harbour in the Burren area of North Clare in the West of Ireland. He has written two albums of original material that are eagerly anticipated. ‘Just A Piece Of ’ is now available.
Jim McKee is a renaissance man, a singer, a songwriter, a musician, a bit of a philosopher and very much a visual artist.
For some ten years now, he has lived in the Burren. It has become his spiritual home, a major factor in his life. He finds inspiration all around him… in a cluster of wild flowers, a bend of the lane, a corner of a bog, a tractor in the landscape, Boats at rest at the quay, the colours of the Burren.
