Following the recent success of their debut EP launch and debut headline show at Whelans , we are delighted to announce the return of The Geddes to Whelans on Sunday Nov 8th. Their debut EP ‘Human’ was released on May 29th last and went straight to the no.1 spot on the iTunes pop album charts and no.2 on the overall iTunes album chart.

Dublin based pop/rock group – ‘The Geddes’ have been causing quite a stir on the Irish music scene since they first released their debut single ‘Frontline’ in November of 2014. The single was a massive success for the group in terms of establishing them very quickly on the Irish music scene as a group who are out to succeed and who will stop at nothing to ensure that their music is heard. The song was chosen by UTV group radio (FM104, Q102, Galway Bay FM and more) as their ‘Select Irish’ track for the month of February (2015), and 98FM, iRadio and many regional stations also showed a lot of love for the guys and their debut song with plenty of airplay and on-air performances.

The band is made up of Dubliners – Eammon Hegarthy, Gavin Doyle, Jason Keogh and Liam McDonnell and is fronted by Mayo native Liam Geddes. Liam had a short stint on The Voice Of Ireland in 2012, when he was mentored by ex-Westlife member Kian Egan. He made it to the quarterfinals, but unfortunately that was the end of that journey for Liam. After departing The Voice, Liam threw himself into the live music scene and has been very busy performing all over Ireland as a solo artist with his acoustic guitar, or his number one instrument – the piano. He has been extremely busy writing songs, and has co-written with many other artists including a collaboration track with Dublin based rappers ‘Class A’z’. Their single ‘Lifeboat’ became a huge hit and was played on radio stations across the country. Liam has also developed a strong fan base in America where we regularly gigs, and most recently performed to over 100,000 people at the Pittsfield Fourth Of July celebrations. He hopes to return there soon with his newly formed band.

The guys return to Whelans on Sunday November the 8th for a very special performance.
