The Suffolk rockers reformed in 2011 after a five-year break,  with members of the original line-up Justin Hawkins (vocals/guitars), Dan Hawkins (guitars/backing vocals), Frankie Poullain (bass) and Emily Dolan Davies joining as a new member on drums. Following the release of their debut album ‘Permission To Land’, which hit the Album Chart Number One spot, The Darkness have been honoured with a string of awards including an Ivor Novello, four Kerrang! Awards, two Metal Hammer Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award and even an Elle Style Award for being the ‘Most Stylish Band’!  Celebrating the 12th Anniversary of their legendary number one debut album ‘Permission To Land’ – which garnered the band 3 Brit Awards – are still broadly representative of the band’s signature sound. 2015 sees the band release their  fourth album,  provisionally titled Cliffhanger, scheduled for release in March 2015. It follows the band’s 2012 comeback Hot Cakes, and also marks the debut of the band’s new drummer, Emily Dolan Davies, who replaced founding member Ed Graham in late 2014. Dont miss The Darkness perform their outstanding live show when they play Whelan’s. Expect powerful, muscular rock riffs leavened with lyrics that are often deceptively funny or unexpectedly touching, all delivered in what is unquestionably one of the most distinctive voices in rock. Check out their amazing live performance of  ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ at Download Festival last year….
