Sun Shakers are a 4 piece ‘psychedelic soul’ band from Ireland and the UK. The story of Sun Shakers began 5 years back. Since, they have released two records; The Union(2017), and Back to Us Part 1(2019). These records are mixes of soul infused rock, folk, funk and hip-hop tracks and have made this band who they are today.
Having had the opportunity to tour Ireland, Sun Shakers have played some of Ireland’s top venues such as The Button Factory, Crane Lane Theatre, The Workmans, The Grand Social, Whelans, The Harbour Bar, The Underground Music Venue and the renowned Abner Browns. Festival performances include being one of the ‘Hard Working Class Heroes’ showcasing in 2016 (now Irish Music Week) and performing at Electric Picnic 2014-2018.
2020 will be the pinnacle for this band to date with another tour of Ireland and the Uk on the horizon, a track going to Cannes Film Festival as part of the soundtrack of a short film attending, and the release of the 2 part album Back to Us .
Influences include Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Aretha Franklin, Kendrick Lamar, Fleetwood Mac, John Maher, John Frusciante, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and even the oldskool Hip-hoppers like Notorious BIG and 2Pac.
This will be Sun Shakers first headline show in Whelan’s so expect the unexpected!
