Dublin outfit Spies have announced a headline show in Whelans on Saturday, August 2nd. Tickets priced at €12 go on sale tomorrow at 9am from ticketmaster.

New single “Moosehead” is out August 1st on Trout Records:

Available on limited 7” and download, it also features the b-side ‘Yearner’. Both tracks were recorded at Meadow Studios by Solar Bear’s Rhian Trench.

Recently selected as an NME Radar pick, as well as boasting a slot in The Guardian’s New Band of the Day, Dublin band SPIES continue the building momentum with their first release of 2014.

A highlight of recent live shows, ‘Moosehead’ displays SPIES’ uncanny ability to widen their sound in a big, brash anthemic manner; yet lower it with the intimate and personal approach when delivering their more poignant musical messages.

Capping on various radio play in their native Ireland, as well as spins on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, the band are still in their early twenties, but can boast a sound that suggests they already have an abundance of experience.

You can purchase ‘Moosehead / Yearner’ here: http://spies.bandcamp.com/

SPIES are: Michael Broderick (vocals), Conor Cusack (lead guitar), Neil Dexter (rhythm guitar), Hugh O’Dwyer (bass) and Jeffrey Courtney (drums).
