LISTEN TO THEIR NEW ALBUM >>HERE<<

Fresh from conquering SXSW in Austin, Texas, despite Hannibal Buress’ best attempt to ruin their career with his guest-drumming stint, Speedy Ortiz return with a hugely accomplished new album, Foil Deer. The album follows last year’s Real Hair EP and 2013’s Major Arcana. Speedy Ortiz – Raising The Skate Speedy Ortiz – Tiger Tank (Live @ Pitchfork Music Festival 2014) ‘Foil Deer is catchy, exhilarating and smart, qualities that indie rock barely has all at once these days’ – Uncut 8/10 ‘The Massachusetts quartet deal in angular, hook-laden indie-rock, with eloquent lyricism from Sadie Dupuis’ – The Times ‘Speedy Ortiz’s new single, Raising the Skate, might please Sheryl Sandberg. Not because it references Facebook, but because frontwoman and songwriter Sadie Dupuis sings “I’m not bossy, I’m the boss” – similar to the Ban Bossy campaign that launched last year. Here, she delivers it over crunchy, squealing guitars and essentially tells anyone who’s fucked with her in the past to take a seat. We’re into it’ – The Guardian ‘If life offers diminishing returns, at least the Boston band don’t – their squally thunder grows more uncompromising at every step’ – NME ‘Barbed, off kilter songwriting with a wicked wit, ‘Raising The Skate’ is an impassioned return from the inquisitive four piece.’ – Clash ‘It’s an empowering cut, with confident maxims propelled from Dupuis’ mouth with maximum moxie.’ – Line of Best Fit ‘Speedy Ortiz are busy raising the bar ever higher in the lead up to their second album ‘Foil Deer’. – DIY Speedy Ortiz’s new track, ‘Raising The Skate’, is a 4-minute slice of fuzzy pop brilliance. It’s as simple as that.’ – The 405 ‘Jammed full of hooks, crunchy guitars and effortless vocals form Sadie Dupuis, these new tracks reveal a streamlined sound for the quartet, making them more irresistible than ever.’ – London in Stereo
