ROBERT JOHN

https://www.facebook.com/robertjohnhope Robert John is an Irish, Berlin based singer/songwriter whose music is rooted in folk and alternative pop/rock, and whose vocals have been described as “ethereal” (Hotpress Magazine) (IRE), and to having a vocal range veering from “Matt Bellamy style dramatics, to Eddie Vedder and Thom Yorke” (Mail On Sunday) (UK.) As front man of Limerick outfit Senakah, Robert spent the last 8 years touring America and Europe both with the band and as a solo artist, releasing two albums to critical acclaim. With three top 20 chart hits in Ireland under his belt, in 2009 he travelled to the US playing close to 300 shows in over 40 states, taking in legendary venues like the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood and the Boulder Theatre, as well as the South By Southwest Festival, touring and jamming with Talking Head’s and Parliament Funkadelics Bernie Worrell along the way. Added to this he has had his music placed on numerous high profile US television series’ such as “The Hills”, ‘The City’ and ‘The Kardashians,’ all while breaking into the CMJ (College Music Journal) Top 100 charts. Having previously recorded an album with The Cranberries guitarist and songwriter Noel Hogan, Robert was asked to collaborate once again with Noel on Limerick European City of Culture’s music legacy program ‘Sound Out & The Pigtown Fling’ which was released in late 2014. PRESS QUOTES: “Plaintive and anthemic, visceral and cerebral, this music is broad in scope and pleasing in countenance.” (The Liverpool Echo) (UK) “Calls to mind such acts as The Doves, R.E.M., Jeff Buckley and Snow Patrol.” (South Bend Tribune) (USA) “Sounds like Eddie Vedder on his best day.” (New Haven Advocate) (USA) “Disenchantment has never sounded so enchanting!” Rockwired.com (USA)   — — — — —
