It’s all brilliantly executed and deftly performed with an authenticity that wouldn’t be out of place on the stage of the ‘Grand Ole Opry’.” – Hot Press “Beer Flinging Banjo Rock” – ShortList, the UK’s leading Mens Magazine “9/10, Love and Havoc is an excellent, almost flawless album with a set of fantastic songs, great singing and outstanding musicianship” – Maverick (UK #1 Independent Country Music Magazine) “The 6-piece Pilfers aren’t short of energy and they can play up a storm. This is reflected in the infectious enthusiasm that ripples through their more upbeat songs such as Bright Lights, the slower material, such as Fallen Leaves, is even more impressive.” – The Ticket, The Irish Times

BIOGRAPHY

RACKHOUSE PILFER are a fiery & exciting 6-piece Irish band who have been getting rave reviews with their Roots blend of Irish-Americana. After a storming 2014 which included being awarded ‘LIVE BAND OF THE YEAR 2014’ by Hot Press & Jagermeister, recording in Nashville, their first headline tour of Ireland, playing for the Irish President, headlined Europe’s 2 biggest Bluegrass Festivals & loads of great Irish Festival performances RACKHOUSE PILFER are looking forward to an exciting 2015. The rise of RACKHOUSE PILFER is unstoppable. RACKHOUSE PILFER formed in 2012 by the fireside of McGarrigles bar in Sligo, performing an acoustic set of bluegrass and folk hits from their favorite Americana artists. It wasn’t long before they had to be plugged in to be heard due to their growing popularity and swelling crowds. They have been enthralling crowds throughout Ireland, Europe and Nashville and were Special Guests to Imelda May at SLIGO LIVE in October where they were a big hit with the audience, so much so that Imelda May invited them to join her for other dates. 2014 saw RACKHOUSE PILFER jet off to Nashville, Tennessee to record their new album of all original tracks entitled “LOVE AND HAVOC” at Alex the Great studios with producer Brad Jones. Brad has worked with a long list of Pop, Rock and Alternative Country artists including Steve Earl, John Prine, John Hiatt, Josh Rouse and Bobby Bare Jr. “LOVE AND HAVOC” features 12 tracks penned by RACKHOUSE PILFER, most of which feature the stomping uproar you might expect from this band, but there are a few twists to the plot. While in Nashville RACKHOUSE PILFER were invited to play at the legendary Station Inn, Nashville’s most famous traditional Bluegrass venue where over the years the best of the best in this genre have graced its stage. They were also asked to perform on the “Viva Nashvegas” live internet stream music show. At the Station Inn they played to a star studded audience including actress Mary Steenburgen, musical legends, cast members and the production team of the TV show ‘Nashville’. They were invited to perform on stage with an all-star band which included Jeff Hanna (lead singer with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Fred Eltringham (Drummer with Sheyl Crow), Mike Bub (Bass player, Steve Earle Band& Del McCoury Band), Legendary Guitarist Guthrie Trapp and many more. This was followed by an invitation on stage as guests at the Grand Ole Opry by Country Music Legend George Hamilton the IV. They were invited to perform with John Carter-Cash, son of Johnny Cash as his special guests together with Raelyn Nelson, Granddaughter of Willie Nelson. The legendary Harold Bradley features on two of the tracks from their new album ‘LOVE AND HAVOC’. Harold Bradley, now 88 years old is regarded by many as being the most recorded guitar player in history and played on many hit records with Elvis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and Jerry Lee Lewis among others. If you’ve ever listened to any of these artists then you have heard Harold Bradley play. Harold was most famous for inventing a style called ‘Tic Tac’ bass guitar and he joined Rackhouse Pilfer at their recording session in Nashville to play his legendary ‘Tic Tac’ guitar on two of the album tracks “Angela” and “Me and a Polar Bear”. Having Harold Bradley record with the band on these two songs was a real honour for Rackhouse Pilfer. 2014 has been a great year for the boys with many successes, including being awarded ‘Live Band of the Year’ by Hot Press & Jagermeister, recording in Nashville, their first headline tour & loads of great Festival performances. RACKHOUSE PILFER are hungry to build on their success and have many great projects their working on and are looking forward to an exciting 2015.
