PERCOLATOR

https://www.facebook.com/percolator.music

PERCOLATOR are a Dublin based experimental music band. Their meandering genre sprawling compositions have been compared to Swans with a leaning towards NEU!s krautrock driven rhythms. Following the very warm reception of their debut album Sestra (Penske Recordings), Percolator are currently threatening their next release from their ever deepening Spud-cave, Guerrilla Studios.

“Percolator are one of the most intriguing and melodically arresting bands in Ireland at the moment. Both live and on record. Buy their album, go see them live.” – Overblown

“Sestra is a gripping, intriguing, original and paradoxical album. What blows here is the perfume of total freedom as a metaphor for the world that is our today as magnificently sublime as it is it may be horribly devastated.” – Burn Your Life (France)

“Sestra is a masterclass in filtering the band’s.. brilliantly breakneck hybrid of Krautrock locked patterns and submerged psych-pop”. The Thin Air

Their discography to date has shown an ever evolving style, sometimes unpredictable yet always exciting. Live, they have become known for their intense & exhilarating performances.

PRESS:

“Steeped in haze and distortion and armed with mind-blowing structure” – The Fader

“On the intense and hypnotic In Heat Not Sorry, much of the music is utterly spellbinding.” – Hot Press

Silver Leather sways with an atonal guitar riff that is reminiscent of The Fall; a krautrock influence is audible in the motorik beats of Way of Sorrow and Who’s Saving Who?; and the influence of The Velvet Underground looms large throughout as Cathal MacGabhann and Elaine Howley trade ethereal, woozy vocals. – The Irish Times

“…takes me back to that window of time around 1988/89 when indie rock was flying off in all sorts of interesting directions and no-one had had invented names for it all yet.” -Brooklyn Vegan
