“Cross Winds” EP LAUNCH plus guests ^ Upstairs ^ Hot on the heels of last years’ standout debut ‘Other Places’, Dublin based Singer Songwriter Owen Vahey is set to release his second EP ‘Cross Winds’ on June 13th upstairs in Whelans. Featuring a dynamic range of textured sounds, along with the passion and edge that has become ingrained in Owen’s unique sound, ‘Cross Winds’ marks a new and exciting chapter in Owen’s career to date. Recorded in Orphan Recording with the help of Gavin Glass, Owen’s second EP integrates a shimmering urgency along with passionate and dedicated musicianship which fuses together to mold Owen’s alternative folk sound. Featuring lyrics about hope despair and every state in between, ‘Cross Winds’ takes you on a carthatic journey through the dark recesses into the hope at the end of the tunnel. Performing alongside Owen are a group of unique frequent collaborators , whose talents add a vibrancy and depth to the proceedings, and which are in evidence on ‘Other Places’ and combine to deliver the ‘Cross Winds’ sound. With a string of festival dates in the pipeline, Saturday the 13th will be an exciting launch pad for a record that invites you to fall headfirst in.
