OLD HANNAH

plus guest

Old Hannah are a Dublin based roots outfit who originate in Sligo in the north-west of Ireland. The group are firmly bonded by a passion for vocal harmony, song and melodic Irish and American traditional music.

Old Hannah are Luke Mercer, Anthony Mannion, Lucie Crichlow and Leo Morris. Their own eclectic musical upbringings and an infatuation with roots, early bluegrass and Irish traditional music sees Old Hannah mix original music with traditional arrangements of songs passed down through the years. Four-part vocal harmonies are the core to their sound and are accompanied by banjo, dobro, mandolin and guitar. Their shows are intimate and captivating while always containing a touch of good old time fun.

Old Hannah have gained significant ground in Ireland over the past two years. They have had two live performances on RTE radio 1 (Arena & Countrywide) along with various radio plays (John Creedon, Niall Toner, John Murray). They were also invited to perform on the RTE Big Music Week Train, the TwoTube Sessions and TG4’s Ceol ar an Imeall. They have made themselves known on the Irish festival and touring circuit performing at the likes of Castlepalooza, Knockanstockan and Sligo Live and have supported and shared the stage with Lisa Hannigan at the Turning Pirate show in Dublin.

Their new Irish Boys EP displays confidence in their songwriting and musical arrangements. They have crafted stories and melodies that display both a strength and energy that sit well alongside their good humour on stage.
