plus guest ^ Upstairs ^ Oddsocks are a Dublin-based act who aspireto remember the importance of the elements that make for great music: melody, harmony and groove. Originally coming from Sligo they have developed a unique sound over the past 5 years, creating a music style that is rich in soul and vocal harmonies which they describe as Rhythm and Groove. Funky guitars, stacked vocal harmonies and vintage piano sounds colour their tracks, with complex arrangements proving that these boys are as dedicated to the craft of songwriting as they are to playing a dynamite live show. Oddsocks latest EP, their third major release,“There’s Something Going On”, has seen them across the length and breadth of Ireland resulting in a hugely successful tour. Oddsocks also made an extensive tour of Scotland, including many appearances at the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and of England to which all built up to a sell-out gig in Islingtons O2 Arena, London. Following the success of the UK and Irish tours the band made the venture to mainland Europe gigging their way through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and back. This was preceded by the online release of their single and music video for the title track ‘Something’s Going On’. The track achieved national and local airplay including the Dave Fanning Showon 2fm. 2015 will be an exciting and busy year for Oddsocks with many releases planned. The band drop a brand new single pre-empting their fourth release in late 2015 all following the digital launch of “Oddsocks Live in Whelans” in late-March of this year.
