— — — — — Nick first came to prominence as frontman with The Fat Lady Sings, with whom he released two internationally acclaimed albums (Twist and Johnson) and penned such Irish rock classics as Drunkard Logic, Dronning Maud Land and Arclight. Following his decision to split the band, Nick pioneered the crowd-funding model to release two award-winning solo albums on his own Self Possessed Records: Between Trapezes (which won Nick the accolade of Best Solo Male Artist at the Heineken Hot Press Irish Music Critics Awards) and Running Dog (nominated for Irish Album of The Year at the inaugural Choice Music Prize). Most recently, Nick has been working under the stage name Alien Envoy, collaborating with a variety of stellar musicians on both the live album Nine Lives and the first studio album Loads, released late last year. The response to this most recent release confirmed Nick’s status as one of Ireland’s most powerful and versatile songwriters. “The most visual songwriter Ireland has ever produced” – Hot Press “Ireland’s most philosophical songsmith” – Sunday Independent. “One of the songwriting greats”  – Hissyfit (UK) “One of the most focused and soulfully precise writers in modern music”  – Stereo Embers Magazine (USA) With Nick’s parallel career as a film-maker in the ascendant – his debut feature The Drummer And The Keeper is due out later this year (including scenes filmed in Whelan’s!) – this is a rare opportunity to have one of Ireland’s greatest songwriters take you on a whistle-stop tour of his stellar back pages.
