THE STILL TIDE (USA)

https://www.facebook.com/TheStillTide http://www.thestilltide.com Having left behind New York City’s jagged cityscape for the mountains of Denver’s skyline, indie rock trio The Still Tide has at last found a place to call home. Written and recorded in the aftermath of the move, their new EP Half Empty Rooms refracts the grit and urgency of city life through the lens of Colorado’s clean air and open space, creating a sound that occupies the liminal area between folk song and shoegaze, aspen trees and streetlights. Since the release of their last record, Tinder, the band has been busy working on new songs and developing the rich and dynamic palette of tones that has captivated their new fans. Joined by her longstanding bandmates Jacob Miller (Anthony Ruptak, The Kissing Club) and Aaron Latos (James Fearnley, These United States, Karl Berger) on this four track release, songwriter and lead vocalist Anna Morsett (Ark Life, Kaki King, These United States) carries listeners through a humbling search not just for a place to hang her hat, but also her heart. Since their departure from NYC, they’ve shared stages with Kaki King, John Vanderslice, Angel Olsen and Pure Bathing Culture among many others and have been featured on Colorado Public Radio’s Open Air live studio sessions. Playing what Pueblo PULP has called “bar music for space cowboys” and striking what Blurt Online described as “… a little sweet spot where indie rock, shoegaze and folk rock all intersect” the band has certainly come into their own and are looking forward to the busy year ahead. Following their album release and tour kick-off show at Syntax Physic Opera in Denver on March 27th 2015, the group will be taking their new songs and seasoned, luminous sound on the road, touring throughout the United States and Europe this spring and summer.
