Marlene Enright captured the attention of Irish media in 2017 with the release of her debut record, Placemats and Second Cuts. In early 2018, the album was nominated for the RTE Choice Music Prize award alongside James Vincent McMorrow, Fionn Regan and Talos – the only solo female artist to be nominated for the award. 2019 promises new material and a new project from the Cork based singer-songwriter. A bare bones tour is set for this coming Spring – be one of the first to hear new material at its rawest and most enchanting. Tickets available at www.marleneenright.com

“★★★★ – Brilliantly played and superbly produced…ambitious, free-flowing alternative pop songs…a seriously accomplished debut album” — The Irish Times

“Debut album full of badass swagger and grit from the Cork singer-songwriter who knows her onions when it comes to the ebb and flow of modern Americana. The more you dig into this, the more you realised Enright’s great gift for nailing a song’s natural push and pull.” — Jim Carroll, RTE Culture

“One of Ireland’s most promising musicians” — Nialler9

“.the lyrical musings of Enright’s debut outing provide a solitary undercurrent that flows right underneath the surface of Placemats and Second Cuts. This is where the real strength of the record lies, in the songwriting and how the production, performances and Enright herself bring all these elements to the fore” — The Last Mixed Tape

“The singer-songwriter has nailed it and her quirky sound falls somewhere between Jenny Lewis and Bjork if you’re looking for comparisons.
This could be the start of something very special” — JOE.ie

“Full of folk and alt-rock sensibilities with fuzzy guitars, swishy percussion, organ and trumpets. Enright’s vocal might lull you into a false sense of security only to softly remind you that the deepest cuts never came from those who shouted loudest.” — Musician.ie
