MARK WATSON

_Main Room_

Comedian Mark Watson presents his new show I’m Not Here.

The multi-award-winning comedy star of numerous TV shows – Dave’s Road to Rio, BBC’s We Need Answers, Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You, and his cult Radio 4 series Mark Watson Makes The World Sustainably Better and Mark Watson Talks A Bit About Life – brings his follow-up live show to the gloriously intimate setting of The Stables Spiegeltent.

A seemingly minor problem at an airport is the starting point for a spiralling examination of identity in the digital age and a search for meaning in our lives…

With an enormous number of jokes, as well as Watson’s customary flailing, chaotic audience interactions and all sorts of other fun conspire to make this a compellingly funny evening.

In short: if you like comedy and you don’t come and see this, you’re acting very oddly.

‘Terrifyingly funny’ The Times

‘Belly laugh brilliant…the audience was weeping with laughter’ Time Out

‘Mark Watson is a prodigy’ The Guardian

A former Cambridge Footlighter, Mark Watson first made an impact on the comedy circuit in 2002 when he won the Daily Telegraph Open Mic competition and was a runner-up in So You Think You’re Funny?

He has become known for his Edinburgh shows (2005’s 50 Years Before Death And The Awful Prospect Of Eternity was nominated for the Perrier) and his gruelling shows that last more than 24 hours. Perrier’s successor, the if.comedies, awarded the panel award for best capturing the spirit of the fringe, in 2007.

Watson won the Chortle award winner for innovation in 2005, when he was also nominated for best breakthrough act, and was nominated for best compere in 2007.

He is also a novelist, with his debut Bullet Points, published in 2003; has written for TV and in 2007 landed his first radio series, Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better.
