Whelan’s Upstairs
Ryan Cullen, otherwise known under the pseudonym “Marcus Woods”, is a 19 year old multi-genre producer from Dublin, Ireland with production and sounds consisting of a fusion of ambient, trap and experimental elements. He is a co-founder of Burner Records, alongside Fynch, ARBU, Sick Nanley and Local Boy. Influenced by producers such as James Blake, Tujiko Noriko, Burial, Blank Banshee and Andy Stott, Woods aims to find a middle ground in between ambient, lush sounds and hard hitting drum patterns, giving the listener a feeling of serenity, yet keeping them in check with fast paced drums and 808s fused with the atmospheric sounds and textures. He has played at numerous shows and festivals, including support slots for Blank Banshee, Milo, Mango X MathMan, Biig Piig, Cities Aviv and more. Woods is currently crafting his live A/V show which he will debut in April 2020. Following the release of his singles Saturn V and Ukiyo, alongside his collaborative EP Global Warming with Rebel Phoenix in 2019, Woods released his first single of 2020 in February with Dain Yoon, the first single from his highly anticipated album, OST.
Marcus Woods play Whelan’s on Saturday, April 25th 2020 with tickets from €12.50 on sale Friday 14th February 2020 (10am)
