– Upstairs – Luan Parle is an established Irish singer/songwriter. She has worked with some of the world’s most successful songwriters & Grammy winning producers in the UK & US including Billy Steinberg (Madonna), Chris kimsey (The Rolling Stones), Hal Lindes(Dire Straits), Stephen Ligroin (Bon Jovi), & Bill Bottrell (Michael Jackson) First Impressions was Parle’s debut album release after signing to Anim Records at the age of 12 following an appearance on The Late LateToy Show with a self-penned number. Parle signed to Sony Music Ireland & in 2007 & won the prestigious Meteor Award for Best Irish Female. She completed the double in November by winning the Irish Tatler Woman of the Year Music Award. Parle’s top 10 single Ghost was one of the biggest selling singles by an Irish artist that year, spending three months in the singles charts. Parle recorded Ghost in her native Irish language titled Taibhse for Ceol 08, which reached number 1 in the compilation Irish Album Charts. In 2010 she chose the independent route, set up her own record label LPR Records & co produced her critically acclaimed album The Full Circle. The album received a glowing four stars in Irish Music Bible Hot Press, featured as RTE Radio 1’s album of the week and the lead single Why Baby Why featured as Ian Dempsey’s song of the week on Today FM. Another track from the album Sexy Sita also features on A Women’s Heart Then & Now which has enjoyed huge success to date. She was invited to pen & perform a track titled The Little Match Girl for RTE Radio 1’s ‘A Christmas Special’. The track featured on ‘A Murray Christmas’ which enjoyed hugh chart success. The album also featured Sinead O Connor & Declan O Rourke. Parle once again enjoyed chart success with a song she wrote with a group of Transition Year Schoolgirls from Clonmel during one of her songwriting workshops. The track titled ‘My Hero’ topped the itunes charts and reached number 7 in the official Irish Charts the week before Christmas. The Wicklow girl has just completed writing & recording her new EP. The EP has been produced by Gavin Glass & mixed by Ingmar Kiang with release dates to be announced. She will take to the stage upstairs in Whelans for the first time October 18th with full band and will play songs from her catalog as well as new material from her upcoming EP Release.
