Leaders Of Men have announced they will play Whelan’s, Dublin on Wednesday 7th December. The band are on a roll after beating 115 Irish acts to win the Hot Press and 2FM ‘Play On The Day’ competition, which saw them bag a coveted spot on the main stage at St. James’s Gate for Arthur’s Day 2011. Tickets priced €10 are on sale Wednesday 28th September.
The five piece from Tallaght have been causing quite a stir since they first formed earlier this year and are gaining an increasingly dedicated following. The band have captured the imagination of the people with their angst and passion, and their mission statement reads “These are demoralised times. The old leaders have failed us and everyone seems to have given up to shuffle home, shoulders sagging in the rain. Leaders Of Men do not accept this.” With equal measures of ambition and swagger – not to mention great songs that stay in the mind from the first listen – this is a chance to catch a band that will be among the discoveries of 2012.
Leaders Of Men are only getting started. The band released ‘The Debut Collection EP’ to rave reviews and have been steadily gathering fans with a series of intense, passionate shows. They play their next headline show in Whelan’s on Wednesday 7th December. Tickets priced €10 including booking fee are on sale from Wednesday 28th at all the usual Ticketmaster outlets.
