TKO (acoustic) & SENEKAH (acoustic)

For the past ten years, McMullan has made an international impression as a soulful acoustic songwriter, performing at sold-out shows, festivals and tour dates with well-established talent such as Sheryl Crow, Ed Sheeran Dave Mason and Mat Kearney, to name a few. He’s also racked up Irish dates with everyone from Cathy Davey and The Blizzards to The Coronas and Jack L and more. His hard work paid off with a deal from Warner label 111 records, 3 official SXSW appearances and much more.

With nothing but a plane ticket, a hiking bag, and a guitar, he flew to the US, hitched and bussed from gig to gig, and played constantly, from 2008

As a touring veteran averaging about 250 dates per year, the majority of McMullan’s songs were written about the road. This next release offers a fresh take on an old subject. “I don’t write love songs. But looking at it from a different perspective, Company is a collection of anti-love songs expressing themes that aren’t really present in popular music,” says McMullan. The five song EP features his intricate songwriting, and includes songs covering anti-love, complacency, loneliness, and love gone wrong. This record picks up where he left off on his last full-length album, Two Years, and is sure satisfy his loyal fan base as well as new listeners looking for music across the singer-songwriter, soul and acoustic genres.

He has also built up a sort of honesty and bluntness in recent songs and live performances that parallel a lot of the best hip hop of recent years. His upcoming Full Length “Common Sense” is the opposite of the EP. “I think right now we live in a time where everyone is walking a very fine line of laziness, stupidity, and entitlement. Now more than ever people could use an honest opinion when everything is getting more and more fake. Sometimes we could all use a little reality check, myself included.”

Expect to hear songs from both of these upcoming 2013 releases as well as songs from Two Years, The Best Part, and Perfect People Are Boring.
