+ DAITHI O’DRONAI & WE ARE LOSERS Dress to distress!!! Don’t miss the Whelan’s Halloween Ball on October 29th. We’ve got a great line up for you with Dublin Electro giants and pure entertainers LE GALAXIE, plus the magnificent DAITHI O’DRONAI and the poptastic WE ARE LOSERS. Musical maximalism. Collapsing synth supernovas. Thunderous drum starfields. Europe’s Le Galaxie have built up their reputation for their joyous, ceiling-melting live shows since they formed in 2008. Hit singles ‘We Bleed The Blood Of Androids’ and ‘You Feel The Fire’ – the latter’s video winning Best Dance Video at the 2009 IMTV awards and support slots with the likes of The Presets, Cut Copy, The Whip, Boys Noize, Au Revoir Simone, Brakes, I’m From Barcelona, Hadouken & New Young Pony Club paved the blazing neon trail to the debut album Laserdisc Nights 2, released in June 2011 with a sold-out show at Dublin’s Workman’s Club. Meshing pounding techno rhythms, shimmering cyber-synths and cascading dream-streams of sonic guitar-wizardry, Le Galaxie have stamped their ‘grid vs. guitars’ ethos on Ireland, UK, France, Sweden and Germany. The first single from Laserdisc Nights 2 was the 3-way battle between Underworld, Vangelis and the Chemical Brothers that is Midnight Midnight, the show closer for Le Galaxie’s now legendary sets at this years Castlepalooza, Hard Working Class Heroes and Electric Picnic festivals. The video from the latter speaks for itself… As to the reviews for Laserdisc Nights 2 and Le Galaxie live. ‘The most danceable thing we’ve come across from an Irish band since Jape hit his heights…’ AU MAGAZINE ‘Merging all the delirious wonderment of Daft Punk with Kraftwerk, Le Galaxie are that and so much more…’ HARMLESS NOISE ‘With theatrical vocal quips and their brand-new debut album Laserdisc Nights 2 clutched in glittering gloves of synthesizers and guitars, pegged on rhythms that stomp like stilettos on glass…’LE COOL ‘The high-tide mark in Irish electronica thus far, in 2011…’ ALTERNATIVE IRISH REVIEW ‘…an album that glitters with eleven slabs of solid gold dancefloor fillers…’ THE SUN ‘…they launch into the kind of showing to leave you open mouthed in astonishment.
