GARRET BAKER AND THE RANDOM NOUNS

plus support ^ Upstairs ^ ‘House That The Trees Reclaimed’ is the 2nd studio album from Garret Baker & The Random Nouns, a musical project by Dubliner Baker, his half French, half Irish partner, Laura Mallett, Dublin guitarist Christopher Barry and German cellist Frieda Freytag. An album of songs written in a stone house on the river Shannon, that explores local murder ballads, mother and baby homes and the dissolute Dublin music scene of old. Past reviews: “The debut album from this Irish based singer songwriter. Features 12 rather beautifully crafted haunting folk songs with a slightly jazzy twist from time to time.” – Road Records “..reminded me of the first Young Marble Giants LP with a few nods to Nico and the Velvet Underground thrown in…a threadbare chic.” – Folkbuddy blog. “A latter day Jacques Brel acolyte.” – The Evening Herald “The debut album from this Irish based singer songwriter. Features 12 rather beautifully crafted haunting folk songs with a slightly jazzy twist from time to time.” – Road Records “His debut is one of character, class and charm.” – Hot Press.
