GABRIELLE APLIN

plus guest _ Main Venue _ “Rather lovely… Gabrielle Aplin pens languid, soulful contemplation.” – Mojo “She’s a real contender now.” 4 stars – Q “Set to see her shine again.” – The Independent “An acoustic queen for the digital age.” – GQ “Effortlessly switching form sultry, hypnotic sounds to more upbeat jazz melodies, Gabrielle Aplin’s second album is exactly what we wanted to hear.” 5/5 – Glamour Following the positive reception that was greeted to her new album ‘Light Up The Dark’, Gabrielle Aplin can now confirm a major UK and Ireland headline tour that includes a Dublin show in Whelans on February 20th. Tickets €22 including booking fee go on sale next Friday, October 2nd, at 9am from Ticketmaster. *This is an over 18s show – I.D will be required. ‘Light Up The Dark’ adds a new chapter to a career that has already delivered 80 million Spotify streams, 90 million YouTube views, 1.5 million sales of single, and #1 chart positions in the UK and Australia over the course of her debut album ‘English Rain’. ‘Light Up The Dark’ has already received extensive Radio 1 support with a playlist for the title track as well as Huw Stephens’ Hottest Record followed by a second playlist for the recent single ‘Sweet Nothing’. The new album was inspired by Joni Mitchell and the production on Feist’s ‘The Reminder’. “Her voice is just here, right at the front, and everything sits around it perfectly,” says Aplin. “I’ve also become much more comfortable writing songs about other people’s stories as well as my own, much of which is inspired by travelling and everything I’ve seen since my first album.” Gabrielle’s recent underplay show at London’s Wilton’s Music Hall sold-out in less than 24 hours. The Evening Standard’s review drew comparisons with Florence + The Machine and Feist, and concluded that it was “A mini-triumph; greater ones will come.” About to play a selection of sold-out dates including London’s Village Underground on September 30th, Gabrielle Aplin will return at the start of 2016 for the following dates: January 28th – Manchester, Albert Hall 29th – Liverpool, O2 Academy 30th – Leeds, O2 Academy February 1st – Edinburgh, Liquid Rooms 2nd – Glasgow, O2 ABC 3rd – Newcastle, O2 Academy 5th – Nottingham, Rock City 7th – Norwich, UEA 8th – London, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire 11th – Portsmouth, Pyramids 12th – Cardiff, Great Hall 14th – Birmingham, Institute 15th – Brighton, Corn Exchange 16th – Bristol, O2 Academy 17th – Sheffield, Leadmill 19th – Belfast, Mandela Hall 20th – Dublin, Whelan’s Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday October 2nd and will be available from http://www.seetickets.com/tour/gabrielle-aplin.| www.ticketmaster.ie
