After 15 years, 4 albums and many good times Fred the band have decided to call it a day. “We have enjoyed our time making music together immensely but simply it’s now time for us to move on. We would like to thank all our fans, friends, families who have supported us over the years. We also offer a big thank you to all of the artists who we have had the pleasure of sharing stages with and the all of the venues who continue to promote live music.”

Fred have announced a number of testimonials around the country in December of this year including Whelan’s, December 13^th De Barra’s Clonakilty and December 15^th Róisín Dubh, Galway. The final ever Fred show will take place in the Pavilion, Cork on December 28^th and where for the first time in Fred history every member of the band past and present will share the same stage.

With 5 Independent releases under their belts including four LP’s which span 15 years, including their 2008 highly acclaimed record ‘Go God Go’ which made waves at home and abroad spawning several poptastic radio hits including: Good One, The Lights, Skyscrapers & Running. Accolades including ITunes Canada ‘Top ten Indie albums’ and Canadian iTunes single of the week for Skyscraper, Hot-press readers poll ‘Top Ten album Irish albums‘ & a Meteor nominations. Both ‘Go God Go’ and their most recent album ‘Leaving my Empire’ have had songs placed across several TV shows and radio adverts campaigns both at home and abroad.

Fred hold a reputation of one of the hardest working independent bands in Ireland over the past decade. Over their 15 year career including Fred have played hundreds of shows around the world including Halifax Jazz festival, Hillside festival, Pop Montreal, NXNE & CMW in Canada, CMJ appearances in NYC, Bergen festival, Norway and on Irish soil The Electric Picnic, Oxygen, The Mid-Summers festival & The Galway Arts festival to name but a few.
