BRONAGH GALLAGHER

www.whelanslive.com presents an exclusive preview of the startling new album from…

BRONAGH GALLAGHER

& Band + special guests Bronagh and her band will be performing a special show in Whelan’s on November 4th to showcase material from her forthcoming album due out in Spring 2012 It’s been a long time since Bronagh Gallagher’s wonderful debut album Precious Soul, released in 2004, but by all accounts the wait for her new album will have been more than worth it. For her latest project Bronagh has assembled a stellar cast of supporting musicians – Conor Brady (guitar), Graham Hopkins (drums), Clare Kenny (bass), Justin Carroll (hammond/Wurlitzer), Shelly Bukspan/Jordan Bukspan/Paul Byrne (backing vocals) & Michael Buckley & Ronan Dooney (horns) – and has applied her own unique storytelling skills to once again pen all of her own material in collaboration with her cousin Caolan McLaughlin. It should also be added that Bronagh took the producers helm for this record adding yet another string to an already dazzling bow. Bronagh’s latest opus – scheduled for a Spring 2012 release – was recorded on carefully chosen analogue equipment in Octophonic Studios in Dublin & pays homage to the sound & essence of the great producers of the 60’s and early 70’s – the music that Bronagh adores. Inspired by such masters of their craft –check out ‘Dusty In Memphis’, Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ or Ike & Tina’s ‘River Deep Mountain High’ to hear what we’re talking about – Bronagh has succeeded in infusing her music with a unique voice and style all of its own. On this highly anticipated record the listener is taken on a journey from Ireland to Dorset, England, to Paris and Berlin and on to California where the listener becomes submerged in the dark and magical nights that unfold in the City Of Angels and then finally to the brutal ganglands of Mexico City. It’s quite the journey you’ll have to admit and you can experience this inter-continental musical epic all from the comfort of Whelan’s Of Wexford St on November 4th. + special guests
