BRÍ

plus guests ^ Upstairs ^ Brí is an independent singer-songwriter based in Dublin. During her time singing with “The Inklings”, Brí won the King Kong competition prize of playing Whelan’s main stage , was selected to play ‘The Black Door Showcase’ in 2017 as one of Dublin’s best young up-and-coming artists and supported acts such as David Keenan in The Liquor Rooms. After breaking away as a solo artist, Brí was a finalist in the Kilybegs Songwriting Competition and has gigged all around the country, recently supporting artists such as Sean Bradford in the Workmans Club as part of “The Nomad Tour”. Inspired by haunting vocals and heartfelt lyrics from artists such as Birdy, Laura Marling, Lisa Hannigan and Gabrielle Aplin, Brí’s songwriting draws on personal experience; “For me, songwriting is having something difficult happen, and turning it into something beautiful instead. It’s sharing something real and meaningful so that we all feel a little less alone.” Up and coming on the Dublin music scene, Brí dips her feet into the electro-folk genre with her debut single ‘Low Supply’, produced by Darragh Nolan of Asta Kalapa studios, who also recorded artists such as Ailbhe Reddy and Jackie Beverly. Taking to the stage with a full band, Brí headlines Whelan’s on June 11th and extends an open invite to all.
