BALLROOM BLITZ

BALLROOM BLITZ

plus guests GAVIN GLASS ^ Upstairs ^ Meet Ballroom Blitz When Dubliner and up and coming pop sensation Conor Hamilton put an ad on a social media looking for people to join his new band, he had no idea it would take him nearly 2 years before his request finally was answered. The wait was reassuringly worth it for Conor, who is “Ballroom Blitz” lead vocalist he share’s the stage with another 5 members. They are Conor Barnes who plays keys, Stephen Byrne on rhythm guitar, bassist Luke Lally Maguire, Brandon Larkin, the group’s virtuoso lead guitarist, and Dennis Loan on drums. Having made their debut at Ringsend and Irishtown’s May Day festival, these lads have their eyes set on big things for their future. I saw Ballroom Blitz live at the 50-50 Music project, in July of this year in St Andrews Community Centre on Pearse Street, and to say I was somewhat floored by these young adults is quite the understatement. I caught up with the lads after they finished practice at Conor’s house, as it has its own music room/studio. The lads seemed very relaxed, a sure sign of confidence, which is very good to see considering this is their very first time to get interview by any magazine. We at the Fountain, your favourite online digital newswire, really like to offer Ballroom Blitz, and other up and coming musicians a chance to promote their talents using the newswire as their platform. The group spoke about much they enjoyed playing to their fans and how their enthusiasm is infectious. They are eager to promote their next headlining gig on Sunday, the 1st of November in Whelan’s on Wexford Street, tickets are only €5.00 and you can pay at the door, with guest support from Gavin Glass, AWOL and Evil Empire. I asked the lads where they would expect to be by 2020, their answer was a modest one, all they wish is to be making a living of their music and have at least a couple of albums released. Only recently Ballroom Blitz saw their very first single “Other Side” released, let’s hope it goes well in the charts. Ballroom Blitz, have something magical about them, when I saw them live last July I was totally taken back by their very raw performance on stage. Ballroom Blitz was like watching the Thin Lizzy performing in terms of energy and musical prowess melded with Conor‘s Bono esq stage presence sans ego! Ballroom Blitz have a FaceBook page if you want to visit their page for updates, and again ” Other Side” is now available on i-tunes, but do yourself a favour and get down to Whelan’s on Wexford Street, Dublin City, On Sunday 1st November and watch ” Ballroom Blitz, play live, it may be one of the best gig’s to be played in Dublin City, this year… We at your favourite online digital newswire, the Fountain, wish Ballroom Blitz, the very best for the future…….
