Full band show in support of Patreon launch

Presiding over a range of left-field guitars, new-fangled synths and rattling percussion, Scott sings in a cracked alto with ‘dreamlike, enigmatic lyrics and deadpan delivery’ Evening Herald. Twice nominated for Irish meteor awards, Ann Scott has carved out her own niche as an independent and firebrand songwriter over the course of four original albums.

Her debut album, Poor Horse was voted into the Hotpress musicians’ poll of Ireland’s top 100 albums, while follow ups, We’re Smiling and Flo received hearty critical acclaim and a growing number of converts, with Tony Clayton Lea including We’re Smiling in his novel of ‘101 Irish Albums You Must Hear Before You Die’.

Recorded at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studio in Chicago and Sun studios in Dublin, her most recent offering, Venus to the Sky comprises ten songs co-produced with long term collaborator Karl Odlum.

“A concoction of dreamy vocals, groovy clatters and a dark PJ Harvey-esque romanticism.” Lauren Murphy – The Irish Times

‘Consistently interesting, haunting, inventive and beautiful…. like My Bloody Valentine playing a swimmy acoustic set or a blissful Cat Power-esque jazzy swing with poignant and satisfying lyrics.’ – Room 13

Currently working on new music, early versions will be available as part of her Patreon venture kicking off this September.
