A Band Called Wanda are a 4-piece indie/folk band from Galway. Having built a name for themselves on the Irish music scene through high-profile support slots to the likes of, David Gray, Alabama 3, Stornoway, The Sawdoctors, The Hothouse Flowers, and Johnny Flynn, they are now considered one of the most exciting and promising new acts coming on to the Irish Music scene, and are creating quite a stir with their own brand of exciting, melodic “Folk ‘n Roll”. The band released their debut mini-album, “Roses Are Still Red” in 2010. Recorded in the Scottish Highlands, the 6 song recording has received plaudits from radio stations in Ireland and abroad, having been played on BBC Scotland as well as being played on RTE Radio 1 in Ireland. The band are currently putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming debut LP, which is sure to turn a few heads upon its release in 2011.

“A band this f**king good should not have such a s**t name” – Larry Love, Alabama 3.
