Marty Willson-Piper is best known for his tenure as a lead guitarist and singer/songwriter, playing with the church, All About Eve and The Saints, covering Psychedelia, Goth and Punk Rock.

As a songwriter he has written songs for and with Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan’s guitarist), Aimee Mann, Jules Shear, Linda Perry and Grace Slick from the seminal ‘60s band Jefferson Airplane. He has covered even more genres with a slew of solo albums and other eclectic projects.

Marty recently penned 40,000 words of sleeve notes for the re-releases on CD of the church EMI catalogue as well as curating the Newspaper Taxi website where musicians wrote reviews of their favourite albums. He has returned to writing with his In Deep Music Archive website where he covers cultural happenings in Art, Music, Film and Literature.

The In Deep Music Archive is widely acknowledged as one of the planet’s biggest physical, personal record collections. Ranging from Classical music to Jazz, Punk, Prog, Pop, funk, soul, R&B and Electronic sounds. The archive keeps up to date with contemporary music as well as being an authoritative source and reference library of music history. His favourite band is Can, his favourite singer is Colin Blunstone.

His recent involvement with Pet Sound’s, Stockholm’s coolest record store investigates and reviews obscure records and better known classics from the past whilst revealing interesting new ones for a burgeoning new audience of vinyl buyers and streamers alike. He is currently the lead singer with Swedish band MOAT, a collaboration with Weeping Willows guitarist Niko Röhlcke and has recently joined French band Sweet Gum Tree as bassist.
